Wildfire Awareness Week Kick-Off

Sunday, May 3, 2015 | 1 to 3 p.m.

The public is invited to join local fire protection agencies for an afternoon of fun-filled events to be held at Main Street Square on Sunday, May 3 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard has proclaimed May 3 through 9, 2015, as Wildfire Awareness Week in the State of South Dakota. The purpose of this week is to bring attention to the dangers of wildfires and how citizens can protect themselves and their communities from these potentially devastating events.

This event will feature informative displays and children's activities. Participants will be able to learn about wildfire risks and prevention methods.
