Games, Crafts, Entertainers, Train Rides, and Educational Booths for Sixth Annual Kids’ Carnival

DOWNTOWN RAPID CITY, SD – Main Street Square is the place for kids and families to be on Saturday, June 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sixth annual Kids’ Carnival is sponsored by Black Hills Parent Magazine and South Dakota State University, Progress Sponsor Northwestern Engineering Company.

Kids' Carnival is held in conjunction with Regional Health and Kohl’s Cares "Don't Thump Your Melon" program, which provides helmets to those in need, proper fitting of helmets, and bicycle safety education.

Attendees can take in performances from Keys of Mind and Batchelder’s Young Artists at 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.; Academy of Dance Arts at 12:15 p.m.; Hot Show Dance Team at 1:30 p.m.; and Rock School 2.0 at 2 p.m. The interactive fountains at Main Street Square will be on for a quick cool down throughout the event.

There is something fun for everyone in the Regional Health and Scull Construction Kidz Zone, including the Main Street Square Fun Express train and inflatable bounce houses. Vendors will offer children’s activities, such as pony rides, hands-on educational exhibits, interactive musical instruments, games, and crafts. This event is free and open to the public.

“Bring the whole family to Main Street Square for an afternoon jam packed with kid-friendly activities,” said Megan Whitman, executive director of Main Street Square. “Kids’ Carnival is fun for all ages, including the young and young at heart.”

Extend your day Downtown with shopping and dining, while enjoying free parking in all Downtown public lots, metered spaces on the streets, and in the parking ramp near Main Street Square all day on Saturday, June 3.
