Main Street Square’s Fifth Annual Art & Wine Festival set for June 11

RAPID CITY, SD – Tickets are now on sale for wine tasting at the fifth annual Art & Wine Festival at Main Street Square on Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The event is free to attend and open to all ages. Only those 21 years of age and older, with a valid ID, may consume alcohol. Main Street Square promotes drinking responsibly. Art & Wine Festival is sponsored by Neugebauer’s Fine Jewelry and US Bank.

A ticketed wine tasting will be held at the Art & Wine Festival from noon to 7 p.m., where individuals may sample more than 30 wines from many regions, and purchase their favorite bottles. South Dakota wineries will be on site as well as Rapid City wine distributors. 

Three wine tasting packages can be purchased in advance or at the event: Ultimate Tasting Experience, $40 or $35 in advance, for unlimited tastings; 13 Sample Taste-As-You-Go Ticket, $25 for 13 tickets; and 5 Sample Taste-As-You-Go Ticket, $13 for 5 tickets. All ticketed customers will receive a souvenir wine tasting glass and each ticket is good for one wine sample. Pre-sale ends at noon on June 10, and pre-sale tickets may be picked up at Will Call on the day of the event. All wines offered at the tasting will be available for off-sale purchase at a special Art & Wine Festival price.

With wine glass in hand, attendees can peruse dozens of booths at the makers market, featuring an eclectic blend of handcrafted items, artisan designs, vintage treasures, and fabulous finds for purchase.

“Attendees will have the opportunity browse the robust mix of artists and makers in our community, while sampling savory regional wines,” said Megan Whitman, executive director of Main Street Square. “From handmade treasures to vintage finds, the Main Street Square Art & Wine Festival will spark your creative soul." 

Art & Wine Festival will feature live performances from The Darning Hearts, a gypsy, folk, Americana band; Egyptian music and belly dancing by Beledi; folk and Americana artist Jami Lynn; Native American flute music by Darren Thompson; Black Hills Cloggers in Motion; and West African funk, Latin jazz, Cuban salsa band, John Roberts y Pan Blanco. There will also be interactive arts and crafts for children and adults.

The Bud Light Beverage Garden will be open to the public beginning at noon and available to those who do not wish to purchase a tasting ticket.

A free shuttle will be provided to pick up Art & Wine Festival participants at Ellsworth Air Force Base and drop them off at Main Street Square. The shuttle pick up times will be at noon, 2:30 and 5 p.m. at Bandit Lanes at Ellsworth Air Force Base. The shuttle will drop patrons off at the Bus Depot in downtown Rapid City. Transportation from Main Street Square back to Bandit Lanes will be provided at 2, 4:30 and 7 p.m. at the Bus Depot located at 333 Sixth St. This free shuttle is available to Military ID cardholders only.

Enjoy free parking all day in all Downtown public lots, metered spaces on the streets, and in the parking ramp near Main Street Square on Saturday, June 11.
