Children’s activities, Easter egg hunt, and Easter Bunny at Eggstravaganza

RAPID CITY, SD – Spend time with the family, experience children’s activities at Main Street Square and hunt for eggs in Memorial Park during Main Street Square’s Eggstravaganza on Saturday, Mar. 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Easter egg hunt, featuring 10,000 eggs, will begin promptly at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 26, and is held at Legacy Commons Playground in Memorial Park.

Eggstravaganza is free to attend and is sponsored by Black Hills Community Bank and Holiday Inn – Rushmore Plaza.

Activities begin at 11 a.m. at Main Street Square. JD Productions will provide family friendly entertainment on the Main Street Square stage. At 11:15 a.m. children will have the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny and get photos with him and the Black Hills Community Bank fire truck. Parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras for the photo opportunity, as a professional photographer will not be provided. Experience children’s activities in the Reginal Health and Scull Construction Kidz Zone, including the Main Street Square Fun Express train and inflatable bounce houses. Children may get their faces painted by the Miss Rapid City Scholarship Foundation participants, hula hoop with Spinchronocity or play with animals at Old MacDonald’s Farm petting zoo. Rapid City High School Art Department will be on hand with free children’s art projects.

“This year’s Easter egg hunt will be the biggest yet with 10,000 hidden eggs” said Megan Whitman, executive director of Main Street Square. “Grab your basket, hop downtown to Eggstravaganza with your family, and enjoy spring fun.”

Children are invited to showcase their creativity in a coloring contest, for a chance to win an egg-celent basket of prizes from Who's Toy House, Who's Game House and Who's Hobby House and sweets from Zoom Soda & Candy. The deadline for the contest is Wednesday, Mar. 23. The winners of the coloring contest will be announced and presented their prize basket by the Easter Bunny at 1 p.m. on the Main Street Square stage.
