Tree arrives at Main Street Square on Nov. 19

RAPID CITY, SD –A 36-foot spruce tree will arrive at Main Street Square on Thursday, Nov. 19, between 9 and 10 a.m.

The tree has been donated from the yard of Ray and Mary Wagner at 3410 Gray Fox Court. The owner had previous plans to remove the tree due to overgrowth on their property. The spruce will be cut down, transported and trimmed by Baker Timber, of Rapid City. The Rapid City Police Department will provide a safety escort to Main Street Square. The tree will be craned into the Square by D&W Crane, of Rapid City.

A lighting ceremony will be held at Main Street Square’s Holiday Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 28, at 5 p.m.

The holiday lighting at Main Street Square is sponsored by NWE Management Company.

Main Street Square’s ice skating rink will open on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. with Skates-giving Food Drive, to help stock the Cornerstone Rescue Mission pantry. Operating hours vary; the schedule is posted on The ice rink may be closed to open skating during events or due to weather.
