RAPID CITY, SD – Main Street Square is the place for kids to be on Saturday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the fourth annual Kids’ Carnival, sponsored by Black Hills Parent Magazine and Black Hills Coupon Book.

This year's Kids’ Carnival event will be held in conjunction with Regional Health's Kohl's Cares Foundation "Don't Thump Your Melon" event. Additional bicycle parking will be available. Kids’ Carnival will have performances from Rock School and the Academy of Dance Arts, and the interactive fountain at Main Street Square will be on for a quick cool down.

The featured entertainment at Kids’ Carnival will come from Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop with three performances. Lamb Chop has been enjoyed by multiple generations. From “Captain Kangaroo” to her very own show, “Lamb Chop’s Play-Along,” Lamb Chop has had an extensive career. In fact, Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop often perform for the military, and Lamb Chop is considered a three-star general.

Children may go on horse-drawn carriage rides, ride the Main Street Square Fun Express mini-train on its debut weekend, see animals up-close at the petting zoo from Old McDonald’s Farm, or be mesmerized by magic from Annelise the Magnificent and Master Benjamin.

“We are very excited to present for the very first time, the Main Street Square Fun Express mini train at this year’s Kids’ Carnival,” Executive Director Megan Whitman said. “It’s going to be a fun summer at Main Street Square, and Kids’ Carnival is a great way to kick things off.”

Vendors include Watiki Indoor Water Park with a bean bag toss and giveaway for a free birthday party; Black Hills Parent Magazine with Black Hills Coupon books; Box Elder BMX with a Strider Adventure Zone racecourse; Spinchronicity with hula hoops; and the Rapid City YMCA.
