SGT ROCK of the 147th Army Band to play at Main Street Square

RAPID CITY, SD – SGT ROCK, one of the popular music ensembles of the 147th Army Band of the South Dakota National Guard, will perform on the Main Street Square stage on Wednesday, June 11, from 6 to 8 p.m., sponsored by Whiting, Hagg, Hagg, Dorsey and Hagg.

SGT ROCK performs hits from today’s top pop artists ranging from One Republic to Bruno Mars. They also play a variety of classics by artists such as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.

SGT ROCK performs for military and civilian functions alike, and have performed at Fort Monroe, VA, Fort Carson, CO, and Fort Huachuca, AZ. SGT ROCK has also toured extensively throughout South Dakota, including performances at Mount Rushmore, Redlin Art Center, Hot Harley Nights, Central States Fair and the South Dakota Governor’s Inaugural Ball. More recently, SGT ROCK was featured on South Dakota Public Broadcasting on the television show “No Cover No Minimum.”

The 147th Army Band is a group of citizen-soldier musicians stationed in Mitchell, SD, that meets one weekend a month and two weeks a year to perform for various civilian and military functions. Currently, members are from South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
