RAPID CITY, SD – The [FUN]² continues in Downtown Rapid City on Thursday Nights through September with Autumn Nights, sponsored by Family Thrift Center and Prairie Market with entertainment sponsors Firehouse Brewing Company, BankWest, S&T Security, Dakotah Steakhouse and Corner Pantry.

The Judd Hoos, a rock cover band, will headline the event on Sept. 4; Abbey Road, Beatles tribute, on Sept. 11; Randy McAllister, Cajun soul, on Sept. 18; and Dogs Without Sweaters, rock cover, on Sept. 25.

A special evening to Honor our Patriots will be held on Sept. 11, and will feature hero booths. All active and retired law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics and military personnel will receive a special beverage discount. The national anthem and a retreat ceremony will be presented at 6:50 p.m. The retreat ceremony will be performed by Chapter 951 of the Air Force Sergeants Association and is a tribute to veterans of all branches of service, and will also pay special honor to the sacrifices of those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, American forces killed or wounded in action since, as well as those held as Prisoners of War or listed as Missing in Action since World War II.

“School may be back in session, but residents and tourists are looking for ways to spend the last warm days of the year,” said Megan Whitman, Main Street Square executive director. “We’ll keep the momentum going with music and kids’ activities through September, bringing shoppers and diners Downtown during the shoulder tourism season.”

Autumn Nights will offer the Rapid City Rush Foundation Kidz Zone and Main Street Square’s fountains as weather permits. The Bud Light Beverage Garden will be set up, including a fire truck from entertainment sponsor Firehouse Brewing Company.

“We are excited to bring the fire truck, with beer taps built in, to the Square,” Whitman said. “Without our sponsors, this event couldn’t be possible.”
