10th Annual Great Downtown Pumpkin Festival

Downtown's biggest festival, The Great Downtown Pumpkin Festival, returns for the tenth year. Visit Main Street Square, venture down Sixth St., and into Memorial Park for a day full of fall fun including TWO rounds of pumpkin catapults, giant pumpkin weigh-off, Downtown pub crawl, Regional Health and Scull Construction Kidz Zone, pony rides, Scarecrow Stroll, vendors and more.

Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off
Before dawn the morning of the event, giant pumpkins can be seen in pick-up beds and on trailers heading to Downtown Rapid City. The pumpkin festival is a certified Great Pumpkin Commonwealth weigh-off site, where the pumpkins are carefully inspected, measured and weighed.

Downtown Pumpkin Pub Crawl
The Downtown Pumpkin Pub Crawl will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. Pub crawl badge holders will receive discounts on beer, wine, cocktails, or soda at participating businesses. Show your badge at the Bud Light Beverage Garden, open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., to receive one free beverage courtesy of Main Street Square. Participating businesses include 445 Martini Lounge, Black Hills Contraband Distillery, Brass Rail Lounge, Firehouse Brewing Company, Firehouse Wine Cellars, The Gold Bison Grill at the Holiday Inn – Rushmore Plaza, Hay Camp Brewing Company, Independent Ale House, Klinkeltown, Main Street Square, Murphy’s Pub and Grill, Oasis Lounge, Paddy O’Neill’s, Press Start, ¿Que Pasa? Children are encouraged to enter the Great Downtown Pumpkin Coloring Contest. The coloring page can be found in the Pumpkin Post and HERE. The deadline to enter is Thursday, Sept. 27. The winners will receive a family 4-pack to the Main Street Square ice rink, which includes four ice skating passes and four ice skate rentals.
